According to multiple reports the New York Jets have agreed to a one year, $5.5 million deal with former Jacksonville Jaguars wide receiver Keelan Cole.

The 27 year old Keelan Cole was originally signed by the Jaguars as an undrafted free agent out of Kentucky Wesleyan in 2017. He is not particularly big at 6”1, 194 pounds, or fast with a 4.59 40 time, but Cole has been a productive player in the NFL. In four seasons with the Jaguars Cole has amassed 2242 receiving yards, 12 touchdowns and 8.1 yards per target, good numbers for a guy who will likely be 4th at best on the wide receiver depth chart.

Cole has not demonstrated a lot of YAC ability, with just a 3.6 yard mark over the last three years, but he has been good in limited action in the return game, with a 15.6 yard punt return average and one touchdown on 9 punt returns, and a 27.0 yard average on 8 kickoff returns.

This is hardly a huge move for the Jets, but Cole is a nice depth piece with an added benefit of being useful in the return game if called upon.
