Jets Mailbag: How much is too much to pay a guard?

NFL: New York Jets at New England Patriots Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

Usually we do one mailbag podcast per week. Next week the focus is likely to be on free agency. Since a mailbag might not happen, I decided to do a second mailbag this week to compensate. Thanks to everybody who provided enough questions for two mailbags this week.

Today we look at whether an anticipated new television contract for the NFL could impact the way the Jets approach their offseason spending, whether the Jets could put themselves at a disadvantage by waiting too long to trade Sam Darnold, whether all of the Darnold trade talk could be a smokescreen, how much cap space the Jets will have by the end of the offseason, how players might be able to avoid the dreaded franchise tag, whether guard is a premium position, and how much of the blame for Jets free agency failures can be placed on the pro scouting department.

Thanks for listening.
