Good morning, Gang Green Nation! There’s been a lot of talk lately about the New York Jets using the #23 pick in the 2021 NFL draft on an edge rusher. Lord knows how much the Jets need an edge rusher. However, the 2021 draft is not exactly filled to the brim with premium edge rushing prospects. If the right guy is available, it might make sense to target an edge rusher early. It might also make sense to take advantage of a free agent class that may feature several good options at the position. There may not be any All Pro pass rushers in the draft or free agency this year, but a one from column A and one from column B approach in which the Jets draft one high and sign one of the better options in free agency might do wonders for the Jets pass rush going forward, even without a game wrecker. Pair the two 2021 acquisitions on the edge with Quinnen Williams and John Franklin-Myers on passing downs and the Jets just might have the makings of a pretty good four man pass rush for the first time in what seems like forever. One can only hope.
