We have the 17th core member of the New York Jets, as voted by all of you. And the winner is: Blessuan Austin, Cornerback! Blessuan Austin was the Jets’ 6th round draft pick in the 2019 NFL draft. His contract runs through the 2022 season. Austin started his Jets career on the sidelines, recovering from an ACL injury suffered in college. When he finally got on the field in the second half of the 2019 season, Austin impressed early, before fading late in the year. Austin started 10 games for the Jets in 2020, but was generally unimpressive. He will probably have to step up his game if he is to be on the Jets in 2022.
With Blessuan Austin taking the 17th spot, our crowd sourced Jets Core 2022 looks like this:
- Mekhi Becton
- Quinnen Williams
- Denzel Mims
