Podcast: Mike White Leads Jets to Stunning Upset of Cincinnati

Syndication: The Enquirer Kareem Elgazzar / USA TODAY NETWORK

Sunday was an incredible day for the Jets. One week after being throughly embarrassed off their bye week, they beat the team leading the AFC. The 34-31 win over the Bengals was both thrilling and completely unexpected.

The star of the game was Mike White, who became the first Jets passer since Vinny Testaverde over 20 years ago to throw from more than 400 yards in a single game. White efficiently distributed the ball all over the field, twice leading the Jets back from double digit deficits.

While White was the biggest star, the Jets got contributions across the board, especially from young players. Whenever the team needed a big play, a big play was made. Perhaps most notably, the Jets finally got their first interception of the year at the most critical time by the unlikeliest source. On today’s podcast I discuss all of this and more.

Thanks for listening.
