Week 8 of the 2021 NFL season continues with a handful of late afternoon games.
The late games aren’t the best this week. The best of the bunch features the Tampa Bay Buccaneers visiting the New Orleans Saints. The Buccaneers were swept by the Saints last year in this NFC South rivalry, and Tom Brady and the Buccaneers look to return the favor this year. The Saints will be without the retired Drew Brees this time, and the offense just isn’t the same with Jameis Winston under center. The 6-1 Buccaneers are looking every bit the Super Bowl champions they are this year, while the 4-2 Saints have mostly beat up on the dregs of the NFL to get to where they are today. This game should be a good test of whether the Saints are contenders or pretenders this year.
Elsewhere in the late games, the 1-5 Jacksonville Jaguars try to make it two wins in a row against the imploding 2-5 Seattle Seahawks, losers of five of their last six games; the 3-4 New England Patriots try to turn their season around against a very good 4-2 Los Angeles Chargers team; and the 2-5 Washington Football Team takes on the 3-4 Denver Broncos in the Mediocrity Bowl. This isn’t exactly a must see TV slate of late afternoon games this week.
Enjoy the games everybody. Use this thread to comment on whichever late afternoon games catch your fancy.
