Monday Night Football, Week 6. Tonight the Buffalo Bills visit the Tennessee Titans.
The 4-1 Bills blew out the Kansas City Chiefs last week on Sunday Night Football, vanquishing the opponent that defeated them in the AFC Championship Game a season ago. You could make a strong argument that Buffalo is currently the team to beat in the AFC.
The 3-2 Titans had a strong bounceback performance last week, handily beating the AFC South rival Jaguars 37-19 in Jacksonville. The previous week, of course, these Titans lost in overtime to the Jets in the first victory of the Robert Saleh/Zach Wilson Era.
These franchises have a long history, having played a pair of the most memorable Wild Card Weekend games ever in the 1990s. In 1992 the Bills rallied from 35-3 down to beat the then-Houston Oilers. Seven years later the Titans exacted some measure of revenge as Kevin Dyson caught a lateral off a kickoff and ran it 75 yards off for a touchdown with 3 seconds remaining in the fourth quarter. Tennessee won the game 22-16.
Both teams have been in the AFC Playoffs two years in a row. Could tonight be a postseason preview?
Enjoy the game.
