Thursday Night Football, Week 6. Tonight the Tampa Bay Buccaneers visit the Philadelphia Eagles in the City of Brotherly Love.
The 4-1 Buccaneers come into this game fresh off a 45 - 17 annihilation of the Miami Dolphins. The Buccaneers are led by the ageless Tom Brady, who threw for 5 touchdowns last week. They are a team of contrasts. The Buccaneers lead the NFL in passing yards, but their pass defense is last in the NFL in yards allowed. They lead the league in rushing yards allowed, but their rushing attack is one of the least prolific in the NFL. The Buccaneers offense has been nearly unstoppable at home, but pedestrian on the road. It will be interesting to see which Buccaneers team shows up tonight.
The 2-3 Eagles come into this game off a 21 - 18 victory over the Carolina Panthers. The Eagles are winless at home, but 2 - 1 on the road. The Eagles have featured a decent pass defense and a decent running game, but they are no match for the Buccaneers on paper. Fortunately for the Eagles the game isn’t played on paper. Perhaps the Buccaneers’ struggles on the road could lead to the Eagles shocking everyone and putting up their first home win of the season. It’s not the way to bet, but who knows, anything is possible.
It’s the Buccaneers and the Eagles on Thursday Night Football. Enjoy the game everybody.
