Jets vs Falcons Second Half Thread

The first half of the New York Jets game against the Atlanta Falcons is in the books, and the Jets trail the Falcons 20 - 3.

The Jets opened the game on defense and promptly allowed the Falcons to march downfield on a long, time eating drive. The Jets managed to hold the Falcons to a short field goal for an early 3 - 0 Falcons lead.

The Jets first possession was a three and out, as the season-long Jets offensive ineptitude early in games continued. A good punt was downed on the eight yard line, putting the Falcons in a deep hole to start their second drive. The Falcons proceeded to march right down the field for a long, clock eating drive culminating in a short touchdown pass to Kyle Pitts and a 10 - 0 Falcons lead.

The Jets responded with another three and out as the first quarter ended with the Jets amassing a grand total of 16 yards on offense.

The Falcons went on yet another long scoring drive to open the second quarter, culminating in a Hayden Hurst touchdown catch and a dominating 17 - 0 Falcons lead. The rout was on and the Jets looked like they hadn’t yet fully awakened. An exchange of turnovers led to a Jets drive that fizzled deep in Falcons territory. A 31 yard Matt Ammendola field goal finally got the Jets on the board at Falcons 17, Jets 3.

The Falcons got the ball back with a little over 2 minutes left in the half. They quickly went down the field and scored on a 52 yard field goal as time expired.

We go into the second half with the Jets trailing by 17 points. The Jets are in deep trouble here. It would take a minor miracle for the Jets to win this game.

Enjoy the second half everyone.
