Sunday Night Football, Week 5. At the end of a very long day of NFL football, we conclude the night with an absolute beauty of a game. Tonight the Buffalo Bills travel to Kansas City to take on the Kansas City Chiefs in a rematch of last year’s AFC Championship game.
The 3-1 Buffalo Bills got off to a rough start, losing to a bad Pittsburgh Steelers team to open the season. Since then the Bills have been on a tear. They have absolutely dominated the opposition in the last three games to the tune of a cumulative 118 - 21 score. The Bills have been the best team in the NFL the last three weeks. On the year the Bills defense ranks 1st in the NFL in points, yards, first downs, and time of possession allowed. They have pitched two shutouts in four games. This has been a scary good unit. On offense the Bills rank 2nd in points, 4th in first downs, 5th in passing touchdowns, 4th in rushing touchdowns. This is a deep, talented, dominating football team. It would not be surprising to see the Bills in the Super Bowl this year.
Speaking of Super Bowls, the Kansas City Chiefs are last years’ AFC representative in the title game. As is often the case, the loser of the last Super Bowl is struggling a bit this year. The Chiefs come into this game with a juggernaut offense but a terrible defense. The Patrick Mahomes led offense is 2nd in the NFL in points and yards and 1st in first downs. The Chiefs’ defense, on the other hand, can’t stop anybody. The Chiefs rank 31st in the NFL in points allowed and yards allowed and dead last in first downs allowed. If the Chiefs don’t find some answers on defense today this could be a mismatch in favor of the Bills.
It’s the Bills and the Chiefs in a great Sunday Night matchup.
Enjoy the game everybody.
