Saleh confirms Mims & Crowder will be Active

NFL: New York Jets at New England Patriots Winslow Townson-USA TODAY Sports

It’s happening. Robert Saleh confirmed in today’s press conference that both Denzel Mims and Jamison Crowder will be active for Sunday’s game against the Tennessee Titans, however Elijah Moore and Jeff Smith will both be out with concussions.

This has been quite a contentious subject over the last few weeks. We’ve seen the Jets offense struggle, with Zach Wilson only attempting a handful of plays in the red-zone and being limited to just 6 points over the course of 2 games.

Mims has just one catch on 5 snaps this year, a 40-yard reception against Carolina. He’s been a healthy scratch against New England and Denver, despite the Jets struggling to gain any momentum on the offensive side of the ball.

When you’re struggling on offense, you could probably do with a 6’3 210lb receiver who runs a 4.4. He may not know all three receiver positions, but he also doesn’t need to. Saleh said he’ll get an opportunity, let's hope that opportunity is more than a handful of snaps.

Zach will also get veteran Jamison Crowder back this weekend, which is a huge lift for a rookie QB. Crowder is a good target over the middle and hopefully, LaFleur dials up some plays where Wilson has Crowder as a hot-route. Tennessee possesses some good talent with safety Kevin Byrd and impressive cornerback Kristian Fulton, but they’ve also allowed 12 plays of 20+ yards and 3 plays of 40+ yards this season. So there is an opportunity there.
