There are a number of news items and rumors to report on the Jets coaching search.
The team announced on Friday an interview was conducted with 49ers defensive coordinator Robert Saleh.

Saleh becomes the third candidate to interview for the job after Chiefs offensive coordinator Eric Bieniemy and former Bengals head coach Marvin Lewis.
This was a relatively simple interview to get. Since the 49ers are out of the Playoffs, the Jets didn’t have to work around the complex web of rules that govern interviews with assistants whose teams are still playing.
This coming week should be a busy one on the interview front. The Jets will be able to speak with coaches whose teams play this weekend whether they win or lose.
There also are some rumors about college coaches. A reporter at a TV station in Gainesville, Florida, the city where the University of Florida is located, indicates Gators coach Dan Mullen has an interview lined up.
According to a source, Gators head coach Dan Mullen has an interview with the NY Jets in the next few days.

Meanwhile Jason LaCanfora reports the Jets will interview Iowa State head coach Matt Campbell.
The highly regarded Campbell turned down an interview request from the Jets two years ago.
La Canfora also confirmed that Bills offensive coordinator Brian Daboll and Colts defensive coordinator Matt Eberflus will interview on Sunday. Today Daboll’s offense will face Eberflus’ defense in the first round of the Playoffs.
