Bieniemy has been Kansas City’s offensive coordinator since 2018. Prior that that he had a five year stint as the Chiefs running backs coach. He has past experience coaching in the NFL with the Minnesota Vikings and in college with UCLA and Colorado. Bieniemy had a nine year career as a player in the NFL.
This is the first of what will be many interviews for the vacancy. The timing of this interview is not an accident. Kansas City has a first round bye this week. This is the week where interviews can be conducted with assistants who work on teams with byes. Next week interviews can be conducted with assistants who work on teams that play in the Wild Card round. Many of the current Jets candidates are coaching this weekend and presumably will get their interview then.
