Jets vs. Patriots: Five Bold Predictions

NFL: New England Patriots at New York Jets Vincent Carchietta-USA TODAY Sports

We’ve finally made it to the end of 2020 and the end of the Jets’ worst season in decades. Regardless of whether you are optimistic or pessimistic about the future of the Jets, you have to feel relieved that this season is over. I’ve been wrong when thinking it can’t get much worse, but this season has been the nadir of my Jets fandom, despite a better record than the Kotite-led Jets. With that in mind, let’s get bold about the final game of the season and the future of the Jets:

Disclaimer: Bold Predictions are not realistic expectations for the game, but rather something that is unlikely to happen, yet possible. These predictions are pro-Jets, yet stretch the boundaries of probability. Claiming that the Jets score 20 points is not a Bold Prediction, nor is claiming that the Jets score 700 points. These predictions must be within the bounds of possibility, but also highly improbable. As always, the final score prediction remains a realistic guess at the result of the game and does not relate to the Bold Predictions.

Here are my five bold predictions for today’s game:

  • Four Jets rush for a touchdown.
  • No Patriots receivers, running backs, or tight ends record a touchdown.
  • Denzel Mims breaks 100 yards.
  • The Jets don’t give up a sack.
  • Two Jets throw a touchdown pass.

Final Score: Jets 23, Patriots 16
