Rumors are now swirling about Eagles head coach Doug Pederson potentially being on the way out.
Doug Pederson’s status as @Eagles coach is not firm, sources tell @Tim_McManus and me.

Pederson could be out if owner Jeffrey Lurie is not confident about Pederson’s vision going forward after the two meet again soon.
Lurie’s concerns extend well beyond Carson Wentz, per sources.
One Eagles reporter has laid out a scenario that involves the Jets.
That talk about a coach being traded is whispers about Doug Pederson to the #NYJets

Pederson has ties to Joe Douglas. Douglas was second in command in the Philadelphia front office prior to taking over as Jets general manager.
If Pederson is going to be fired, I don’t see why the Jets would trade anything for him. The team would be free to hire him without any compensation.
Judging from what I have seen around the internet, a Pederson hire would be met with a collective freakout from the Jets fanbase. This would be for reasons I still have a difficult time comprehending. The Eagles’ season was a disaster in 2020, and Pederson needs to own some of that. Still, from the outside it looks to me like a franchise with a lot of deeper issues. I honestly can’t remember anybody arguing that Pederson was a bad coach prior to this year.
