Jets head coach Adam Gase announced the team’s captains for 2020 on Wednesday.
Adam Gase: Jets Captains are Sam Darnold, George Fant, Steve McLendon, Marcus Maye and Matthias Farley.

It seems notable that George Fant was named a captain. He just signed with the team this offseason. He apparently was able to make an impression quickly in the locker room and established himself as a leader.
Farley had a roller coaster week. He failed to make the team’s initial 53 man roster over the weekend but re-signed on Monday after the Jets placed players on injured reserve to make room for him on the roster.
McLendon has been on the team since 2016. Numerous reports have talked about his role as a leader in the locker room. It is probably one of the reasons the Jets extended him last year despite his age and young talent emerging at his position.
Maye has established himself as a solid safety and locker room force in his three years with the team.
And Darnold gets the nod as captain for the second straight year. Most quarterbacks are named captain for their team.
