The Jets cut their roster down to 53 players over the weekend.
The roster will continue to be tweaked over the next few days. On Sunday it was reported three players who were let go on Saturday will soon re-sign with the team. There will be corresponding moves to make space. Other players will likely either be let go on injured reserve. The Jets have also begun filling out their practice squad, mainly from players who did not make the cut for the 53 man roster. There might even be an outside player or two brought in over the next few days.
On today’s podcast we talk about the roster and the practice squad. Cutdown day in 2020 lacked the high profile shocks of years past. Just one season ago the Jets cut a player they drafted in the top 70. Surprises this year were much smaller in scale. We talk about this all on the show.
Thanks for listening.
