Quarterback Brett Rypien is set to make the first start of his NFL career Thursday night for the Broncos when they face the Jets.
#Broncos QB news, I’m told from sources Brett Rypien is expected to start Thursday vs the Jets. More on @nflnetwork right now!

Rypien was an undrafted free agent signing by the Broncos out of Boise State last year. He began the 2020 season on the practice squad. He saw the first action of his NFL career in Sunday’s loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. He was 8 of 9 for 53 yards and an interception. He becomes the third Broncos starting quarterback of the 2020 NFL season.
Normally I would say that if the Jets can’t beat a Broncos team quarterbacked by Rypien at home on a short week that Adam Gase should be fired. I’ll refrain from doing that, however, since Adam Gase should be fired even if the Jets win this game.
For longtime NFL fans, Rypien is the nephew of former Super Bowl MVP Mark Rypien.
