MNF: Ravens vs Chiefs Game Thread

NFL: Baltimore Ravens at Kansas City Chiefs Jay Biggerstaff-USA TODAY Sports

Monday Night Football, Week 3. Tonight the Kansas City Chiefs visit the Baltimore Ravens in what may be the game of the year.

These two teams may be the best two teams in the NFL. Both come into the game undefeated at 2-0. The Ravens feature a run first offense with reigning NFL MVP Lamar Jackson leading the way. Jackson is a unique dual threat talent who is as dangerous as a runner as he is as a passer. The Ravens feature the NFL’s #1 scoring defense, allowing just 11 points per game, the NFL’s #1 turnover differential at +4 and the NFL’s #3 scoring offense at 35.5 points per game. This is a formidable Ravens team that is rightfully one of the Super Bowl favorites.

Standing in the way of the Ravens are the defending Super Bowl champion Kansas City Chiefs. Led by former NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes, rookie running back sensation Clyde Edwards-Helaire, blazing wide receiver Tyreek Hill and future Hall of Fame tight end Travis Kelce, the Chiefs simply have too many weapons for most teams to counter. They haven’t quite hit their stride yet in 2020. The Chiefs come into the game 8th in the NFL in points scored per game and just 18th in passing yards per game. Expect both of those rankings to rise significantly as the season progresses.

Lamar Jackson and the Ravens have faced Patrick Mahomes and the Chiefs twice, with the Chiefs coming out on top both times. Both those games were in Kansas City. This time the Ravens are home.

Can the Chiefs stop the Ravens devastating ground game? Can the Ravens stop the Chiefs high flying aerial assault? However this game plays out, it should be a highly entertaining one for fans. Perhaps the best two teams in football square off early in the year in what could be a preview of the 2020 AFC Championship game. This is what Monday Night Football is supposed to be.

It’s the Ravens and the Chiefs live in Baltimore on Monday Night Football.

Enjoy the game everybody!
