New York Jets Flight Connections 9/19/20

Good morning, GGN! What a difference a week makes. Last week there was cautious optimism before the game. If things broke right maybe the Jets could beat the Bills on the road and get the season off on the right foot. Maybe a Jets win might even set the tone for some interesting December football. Then came a brutal travesty of a Jets performance in a crushing defeat last Sunday. Now there’s gloom and doom all around. But, hey, it’s just one week, against a very good Bills team, on opening day, the most unpredictable game of the year. Remember a couple of years ago when the Jets crushed the Lions in Sam Darnold’s NFL debut? Remember how optimistic people were for the season and for Darnold? Well, the Jets won just three more games all season in 2018. And Darnold is now beginning to hear the whispers that maybe he just isn’t the guy. Point is, it’s just one game. It doesn’t say much of anything about the future of the 2020 Jets or Sam Darnold. A win this weekend against the 49ers would completely change the narrative for this season, at least until the next week. You never know how the season will play out. That’s why they play the games.
