The first half of the Jets 2020 season opener against the Buffalo Bills is in the books, and the Jets trail the Bills 21 - 3.
On offense the Jets couldn’t get anything going early, with three consecutive three and outs. Sam Darnold was inaccurate, going 2 for 8 in the first quarter, and the running game was shut down by the Bills defense. By midway through the 2nd quarter the Jets had just one first down and the offense looked even worse than last year’s worst in the NFL unit. Only a last minute field goal drive saved the Jets from being shut out in the first half.
On defense the Jets were torched early and often by Josh Allen both through the air and on the ground, and the Bills jumped out to a 21-0 lead in the second quarter. The Jets were simply dominated by the Bills in every phase of the game. Were it not for two Josh Allen fumbles the game would have gotten completely out of hand.
We go into the second half with the Jets trailing by 18 points. Let the Fire Gase chants commence.
Endure the second half everyone.
