Jets vs. Bills: Five Bold Predictions

NFL: New York Jets at Buffalo Bills Mark Konezny-USA TODAY Sports

Football is back! Many of us may have been concerned that this season wouldn’t happen, but with the first game in the books, it looks like the regular season is taking off. The Jets bookended last season with games against the Bills, resulting in a 1-1 split. This was a bit misleading, however, as the Jets collapsed in week 1 against the Bills before narrowly edging out their backups in week 17. Nevertheless, I see no reason to skip going bold this year. In fact, we’re going bold!

Disclaimer: Bold Predictions are not realistic expectations for the game, but rather something that is unlikely to happen, yet possible. These predictions are pro-Jets, yet stretch the boundaries of probability. Claiming that the Jets score 20 points is not a Bold Prediction, nor is claiming that the Jets score 700 points. These predictions must be within the bounds of possibility, but also highly improbable. As always, the final score prediction remains a realistic guess at the result of the game and does not relate to the Bold Predictions.

Here are my five bold predictions for today’s game:

  • Jamison Crowder and Chris Herndon both go for over 75 yards and a touchdown.
  • The Jets record 6 sacks.
  • Le’Veon Bell finally gets his first 100 yard game as a Jet.
  • The Bills are held to under 200 yards of total offense.
  • Josh Allen posts a sub-50 passer rating.

Final Score: Jets 10, Bills 17
