On today’s podcast we continue our preview of the Jets position by position. We now move to the defensive line.
There are areas where the Jets have big concerns. I do not think the defensive line is one of them. In fact I would argue the unit is underrated. Gregg Williams likes to rotate his linemen on and off the field. Few will have enormous snap counts, but many will see appreciable playing time.
I think there is pressure on one member of the unit to step up. That is Quinnen Williams. Williams was selected third overall in the 2019 NFL Draft. His rookie season was solid if unspectacular. In year two the Jets need him to take a big step forward. This defense has lost impact over the last couple of months, and he is the more likely player to replace it. The rest of the linemen generally just need to maintain their level of quality play. Hear more thoughts by listening to the podcast.
Thanks for tuning in as always.
