New York Jets Flight Connections 8/23/20

Adrian Murrell Jets

Good morning, GGN! You win some, you lose some. On a day when the Jets finally got some good news on the injury front, with Avery Williamson, Ryan Griffin and Daniel Brown all elevated to the active roster, three new injuries also popped up. Patrick Onwuasor suffered a non-contact knee injury, Josh Adams hurt his hamstring, and John Franklin-Myers interrupted a promising start to camp with a groin injury. The three new injured Jets join Ryan Griffin, Joe Flacco, Denzel Mims, Brian Poole, Pierre Desir, James Burgess and Jabari Zuniga on the sidelines. The injuries haven’t been a complete negative, however. When players are sidelined by injuries, opportunities open for other players. UDFA rookie wide receiver Lawrence Cager took advantage of the injury to Mims and registered two touchdowns in a standout practice yesterday. Mike White has opened some eyes in Flacco’s absence. And Trevon Wesco has apparently been impressing the coaches in Ryan Griffin’s absence.
