On why we should miss the Preseason:
Jets actually had a shot at winning the preseason games, so I get why you’d miss it.

On What to Expect with Denzel Mims
Sam and the coaching staff are excited about Mims. Good stuff. Not expecting the offense to run through him year 1, but hoping he can make some plays. Big TD catch, big first down, blow the roof off. Don’t need to see all of those things every game, but show me somethin kid. Compete. I’d be happy with flashes.

On the Chris Hogan signing:
At this point in time, instead of getting someone like Hogan, why don’t we just reach out to Dez Bryant and call it a day.. he’s younger and better in my opinion, Hogan doesn’t move the needle in terms of quality depth. Bryant can.. just my two cents

On the first day of practice:
Good morning, the pads are on for the first time today. Here’s what happened at today’s practice: 1. Jets DB coach Dennard Wilson is spending almost all his time with Ashtyn Davis. Davis is currently with the second team, but the expectation is he’ll see a ton of snaps this year. 2. Denzel Mims still isn’t practicing and has a sleeve on his leg. Vyncint Smith and Pierre Desir also still aren’t practicing. 3. Trevon Wesco put on a ton of muscle and has looked good as a receiver early on. 4. Marcus Maye was manning up Herndon in team drills and made a strong pass breakup 5. Mekhi Becton is still putting people on their butt even at the NFL level. Neville Hewitt was the poor soul who got pancaked here on a run play in team drills. However, issues persist in pass ing game, Jordan Jenkins easily beat him with an inside move in 1 v. 1 drills. 6. Brian Poole, who was dealing with dehydration yesterday, also isn’t practicing. Staring CBs are Bless and Hairston, Maulet is playing in the slot. 7. David Fales had Josh Malone wide open deep, which seems to be a constant early in camp, but Ashtyn Davis ranges literally from the opposite side of the field to make a huge tackle and break up the play. 8. Jeff Smith is still working with the starters

On free agency next year:
I disagree there JB. This is the exact time to aggressively add WRs in FA and the draft. Joe has a decision to make on Sam. Give him the best weapons that you can in Years 4 & 5 to be able to evaluate him in the most effective way. If anything, Douglas will be in position to draft a QB in 2022 and actually have a strong foundation to surround him with out of the gate

On Mekhi Becton:
You got to love Becton’s confidence.
When Frank Gore came in during team drills, he told Gore, “I’m going to get you four yards. I’m going to take you where you need to go.” This is the same kid who screamed at his high school coach that if he wanted to win he should just run behind him every play. His High School coach listened, and they won... big.

On Becton being the “Rookie Wall”, with Fant’s guidance:
Joe D is building the wall and making Seattle pay for it

On the Jets potentially trading for Yannick:
I see no value in bringing him over this season with the current needs at WR, CB and DE. Unless JD is going bonkers and bring in a whole lot (please don’t, and not seeing him do that)... why get him now when next offseason and draft is the time to make the moves?
