Over the weekend we heard reports about the imminent signing of Chris Hogan by the Jets. To clear a roster spot for Hogan, the Jets waived running back Kenneth Dixon.

Dixon was a 2016 fourth round pick of the Baltimore Ravens. He actually has been productive during his career, producing an excellent 4.8 yard average per carry. Injuries have held him back, however. Dixon has played in only 18 games over four seasons and suffered three serious knee injuries. This makes it unclear whether he can play productively. He signed with the Jets late last season after reaching an injury settlement with Baltimore.

Hogan now officially joins the Jets. The team has suffered injuries in training camp at the wide receiver position. Denzel Mims has a hamstring ailment, while Vyncint Smith is out one to two months after core surgery. Hogan may have an opportunity to claim a role for this team.
