Jets Sign Safety Ashtyn Davis

The New York Jets have signed safety Ashtyn Davis, whom they selected number 68 overall in the third round of the 2020 NFL draft. Davis completes the signing of the entire nine man 2020 Jets draft class.

Ashtyn Davis is a 6’ 1”, 205 pound safety out of the University of California who will turn 24 years old in October. Davis has outstanding speed as an All-American on Cal’s track team. He played cornerback his first season in college before switching to safety. Davis earned second-team All-Pac 12 honors in 2019. He was also a finalist for the Burlsworth Trophy, awarded to the nation’s top former walk-on. In 49 games in college Davis amassed 166 tackles, 12 passes defended, 7 interceptions, 2 tackles for loss and 3 forced fumbles. In addition to his work in the defensive backfield, Davis has extensive experience on special teams, working as a gunner and a kick returner in college.
