On Denzel Mims:
I’m so excited about this dude and pairing him up with Sam
This is our future right here. Our future #1 WR. Might even be this year.

On Jamal Adams:
Jamal played himself.
Full disclosure: I tend to be on the players’ sides in contract disputes, and I am generally hyper-critical of the Johnsons and Adam Gase, but…Adams has made leadership part of his brand. Guess not. His value goes down. He said he would consider playing without an extension. So who would offer him one now? He provided a list of teams, thereby limiting his options. So why should anyone pay a premium, if his options are limited? Let’s say he stays and dogs it. No one will want him, and players will hate him. Let’s say he stays and the Jets continue losing. Guess he’s not a difference-maker after all. Let’s say he stays, plays well and Jets become contenders. If he leaves, again, the talk of leadership and winning is just talk. If he stays, he looks like a crybaby in retrospect. I see no blame here for the Jets. No reasonable team would extend him at this point, and certainly not after this. If I’m Douglas, I wait it out and let Jamal’s big mouth bring him back to me.

I don’t understand
how the team doesn’t at least fine him at this point. Leaking contract stuff and requesting trades are par for the course, but publicly stating he’s trying to go to Dallas a week after calling Jets fans racists? This is supposed to be a TEAM CAPTAIN. Every time a new GM comes in they talk about building a culture, well I think it starts here. You just can’t put up with this shit, no matter how good Adams is. The Jets should fine him for conduct detrimental to the team, release a statement saying that Jamal has been relieved of duties as team captain, but that they acknowledge that he is a great player and hope to enjoy his services for the next 3 years, starting with his participation at the next mandatory team activity. No further comment, end of story. If they get a great trade offer, do it. But if not, make him play, and fine him if he doesn’t show up. His options are to play, fake an injury, or retire. The Jets want to stop being thought of as a 2nd class organization? Its time to show some 1st class balls. I want 1st class balls.

The Jets come out on top in almost every scenario..
Scenario #1 You don’t find a team to give you what you want in a trade and you keep Adams for 2 more years on the cheap, then tag him twice…both tags are less than what you would be paying him if you gave him a contract he wants. Trade him for whatever during the second tag, work out a new mega deal with the money you saved the last two years by tagging him, let him walk and get a nice comp pick…all these options come with 4 years of all pro safety play at cheaper than market value. Scenario #2 A team gives you what you want in a trade, if you aren’t motivated to trade him you can hold out for exactly what you want. Say Lamb and a #1st…If Dallas wants Jamal that’s the price you set and don’t budge..so lets say they really want him and finally agree to pay it. Now you just won because you got what you wanted. The notion that Jamal is some how on top or has any sort of control is an illusion…the Jets have all the control and if they stand pat they win either way…getting exactly what they want in a trade or an All pro on the cheap for four years then figure it out.

On Sam Darnold:
His footwork costs him on two or three plays a game.
that’s the difference between being just another QB and a stud. Sam in 2019: 273 of 441, 61.9%if he improved his footwork:305 of 441, 69.1% (2 plays per game)313 of 441, 70.9% (3 plays per game)Not all the plays would simply be completions, he would probably cut down on his INT’s significantly as well. instead of 19 TD’s and 13 INT’s, he could easily have had 23 TD’s and 9 INT’s and we wouldn’t be having these discussions about whether he’ll ever make it.

On TEs in Gase’s offense:
I don’t know where this idea is coming from. Julius Thomas’ only two Pro Bowl years of his career came in 2013 and 2014, the two years Gase ran the Broncos’ offense. Then in 2015 Gase had Martellus Bennett and Zach Miller in Chicago, and they combined for 126 targets, 878 yards and 8 TDs on a team that only threw for 3663 yards and 21 TDs. Gase has no problem featuring TEs when he has TEs worth featuring. He had dreck at the position in Miami and last year with Griffin, so they weren’t featured.

On the Jets:
Lol. GGN has swayed me towards some Sam Hope lately
This is gonna sound crazy but a part of me Is being swayed ( thanks to certain friends here on GGN ) into thinking Sam might have a pretty good year for us? Now before you say “Who are you and what have you done with 707” hear me out, Sam Donald is a backyard football type of guy And with the lack of practice around the league that I’m expecting because of the Covid situation, I’m guessing The Opposing defensive concepts/gameplay are going to be a little more vanilla on a weekly basis, Possibly? And I’m definitely in the minority here but I for sure have this gut feeling that Breshaud Perriman and Denzel Mims are going to be looked as 1 of the Better WRs Duos In the entire league by seasons end. The fact that both of those guys are big fast and excellent in contested catchers ( Sam will throw it out there sometimes but these guys will get him a higher chance at the 50/50 balls since they don’t need a perfect pass to make a play ) Crowder, Herndon & Bell Are going to be nice on the intermediate short and hot Routes If Adam base allows it. I also happen to be in the extreme minority here and thinking that the offensive line is going to be very good by mid season. I believe Joe Douglas when he says the best 5 will play. A lot of the OL he signed are position versatile, And if the competition is in fact far I believe the starting offensive line and will be LT Becton, LG Clark, C McGovern, RG Van Rotten and RT Fant I believe these guys can get it done in a zone blocking scheme, There is We drafted in the 3rd round last year, (I’m not gonna try and spell his name) He played tackle but I’m guessing he might be a better fit at guard as he’s only 6’3, Looking at his body last year it was kind of like with Quinnen Williams, they had a lot of baby fat And required at least the year in the weight room to work on their strength and conditioning IMO, I’ve always kind of thought the same as Sam Darnold, That I hope his body would transform in a few years has a feel like it would help him on the football field. The depth and talent is much better on this offensive line And all though I wish we would have triple dipped at wide receiver and the draft If the top 3 guys they healthy they should be pretty Good. Both Smith guys intrigue me Vyncint Smith is big and fast maybe he can do something. I’m not sure if Jeff Smith is still on the roster but he is fast and a very nice route runner He has had a horrible hands Mostly due to concentration if he were to magically clean that up he could be really good. What’s the other guy’s name George Campbell the undrafted free agent out of West Virginia? From what I’ve seen it looks like he didn’t stay healthy until recently he’s tall and fast but needs to put on some weight I think, It looks like he was listed under 200 lbs that could be wrong though? He didn’t look super skinny like Robbie Anderson, He appears to have a bunch bigger frame. Maybe there’s something there. I’m starting to be very hopeful now, or maybe it’s Planet alignment or The Solar Winds?
