New York Jets Flight Connections 6/4/20

Bringing your daily links to the NFL’s New York Jets

Good morning, GGN! I hope you’re all having a great start to the day. If you were expecting the Jets to make a move for Jadeveon Clowney after freeing up some cap space, that bubble has seemed to burst. Reports started circulating yesterday that the Jets weren’t interested in the Edge when he first hit FA and their stance hasn’t changed as time’s gone by. Personally, unless his demand is much more than the Cleveland offer I’m not sure why the Jets wouldn’t take a chance on him. Though he isn’t the greatest pass rusher he is an elite run defender; a strength the Jets currently have. While it would seem redundant to add another run stuffer to the mix, a player of Clowney’s caliber gives an opportunity for the defense to force an offense to be completely one-dimensional. Even though the Jets don’t have the best secondary, forcing an offense to pass does have it’s benefits; and allows DC Gregg Williams to be creative in his packages. But since the Front 7 is essentially the same crew this point is moot, and with that, here are your links to the team to start your day.
