New York Jets Flight Connections 5/31/20

Good morning, GGN! There are two employees of the New York Jets that are most critical to the Jets hopes of returning to the playoffs and ultimately building a Jets dynasty. One is general manager Joe Douglas. It is still early, but initial signs are pointing up with Douglas. The other crucial piece is quarterback Sam Darnold. Now entering his third year in the NFL, if the Jets are going to return to the playoffs any time soon, Darnold almost certainly will be the most important reason why. Joe Douglas began the process this year of upgrading the dreck that passed for offensive talent on the Jets the past two years, but the job is still in its early stages, and no doubt Douglas will continue to make this a priority in the years to come. Have the Jets done enough in 2020 to support Darnold? Will Darnold develop enough in 2020 to support a playoff run? The answers to those two questions will likely determine the fate of the 2020 Jets. It will be interesting to see how those two issues unfold this year.
