Jets Podcast: Rookie Expectations

Every fan has big dreams for their team’s rookie class. Each year there are dreams about the new group of drafted players emerging as a core that will lift the team to greatness for years to come. It seldom happens. It even more seldom happens during year one. Few rookies are major impact players. Most players need time to develop and get used to playing in the NFL.

On today’s podcast we discuss what expectations should be for Jets rookies. While major contributions are possible and would be welcomed, they should not the barometer for success or failure for most players. Aside from the first pick or two, hopes should be fairly modest early in careers. Today we talk about fair ways to judge whether the Draft class of 2020 did its job during year one.
