New York Jets Flight Connections 5/27/20

Good morning, GGN! I hope you’re all having a great start to the day. As you all know, the Jets signed former Superbowl winner Joe Flacco to backup Sam Darnold. Flacco was injured and unable to finish the season last year, and opted to get surgery on his neck in April. A most recent interview with Flacco confirmed he would not be ready at the start of the season which makes the signing slightly questionable to me given Sam Darnold’s inability to complete an entire season so far in his young career. Flacco starting the season on the PUP list allows backup QB’s Fales and Morgan to compete for the backup spot in the meantime, but I would not feel comfortable if either of them had to play meaningful snaps. Hopefully neither will have to, and Flacco is able to provide Darnold with a mentor to help him through any growing pains this season.
