The last few days have been pretty eventful considering it is May. There usually is not much football to discuss, but a couple of relevant news stories have emerged for the Jets.
The first is the signing of a new backup quarterback. Joe Flacco agreed to terms with the Jets late last week on a one year contract. Flacco was a long-time member of the Baltimore Ravens. He spent 2019 with the Denver Broncos.
News also broke late last week of an “impasse” between the Jets and All Pro safety Jamal Adams on contract negotiations. Adams has two years left on his rookie contract, but he is seeking a new deal this offseason.
On today’s podcast we discuss these recent developments. Both of these stories are complex. Flacco provides the Jets an upgrade over their previous backup, but he is a less than desirable option. Adams’ contract status is up in the air. He is no lock to remain a Jet for the long term, but this story also might be overhyped. We discuss all of this and more on today’s show.
