Joe Douglas might technically be in his second year as Jets general manager, but for all intents and purposes this is his first year. Last year he was hired after free agency and the Draft. While he was able to make a few moves, the 2019 Jets roster was largely set by the time he arrived on the scene.
The last month has been his first opportunity to shape his team. It is too early to make sweeping declarations about his job performance. A few free agent signings neither guarantee a future spot in Canton nor do they guarantee he will go down as another general manager failure. For the first time, however, we can begin to draw impressions on the job he is doing.
On today’s podcast I offer my thoughts on three philosopical things Douglas has shown that give me hope for the future.
Thanks for listening to the show.
