Thursday was a quiet day in free agency for the Jets. The first four days have been relatively quiet overall for the Jets. I’m not sure that’s a bad thing. I think it just reflects a new approach for the Jets. So far the new general manager has reportedly set a hard price on each player and been unwilling to go over that price.
As we move into the second wave of free agency, I expect to see a bit more activity from the Jets. The second wave is when prices get more reasonable and bargain deals can be made.
The Jets have some free agents who have not seen the market they were anticipating. They are Robby Anderson and Jordan Jenkins. Could they return to the Jets if their prices go down.
Over the next few days could the Jets add to their depth with relatively inexpensive deals? It would be a change in approach from the old general manager who seemed to view free agency as the method to build his foundation.
We discuss all of this on today’s podcast.
