The new league year in the NFL officially begins at 4:00 p.m. Eastern.
In this day and age, that is mostly a formality. Free agency really began on Monday. Teams and players have been negotiating since then. Many big names have struck deals with new teams. While there is the occasional Anthony Barr situation, most of these agreements will be formalized.
The Jets have agreed to terms with three offensive linemen so far, George Fant, Alex Lewis, and Connor McGovern. The team will surely bring in more players in the days and weeks ahead to fill out the 2020 roster. At the very least, Joe Douglas is making good on his promise to build the team out from the trenches so far.
Additionally, Tom Brady is out of the AFC East. That has to make Jets fans feel good.
