The Jets have their first addition of the offseason, and it is Seahawks offensive lineman George Fant.
Former Seahawks’ OT George Fant reached agreement with the Jets on a three-year, $30 million deal that includes $13.7 million guaranteed, per @JFowlerESPN and me.

Seattle signed Fant as an undrafted free agent in 2016. As a depth player, Fant accumulated 24 starts during his time with Seattle where his play was up and down.
This is the first move of the offseason for the Jets so I think it is a bit difficult to judge. I’m not entirely certain what the plan is with Fant. It is the first in a series of moves. I tend to doubt this addition will prevent the Jets from trying to address tackle in the NFL Draft. The team also is presumably hoping Chuma Edoga makes a big leap between years one and two.
$10 million a year for somebody like Fant seems like a lot of money at first, but I’m less certain of that when I factor in the lack of quality on the offensive line in the NFL and the likely rise in the salary cap going forward.
