Jets general manager Joe Douglas did not re-sign 21 players who were scheduled to become unrestricted free agents at the start of the new league year. As such, with the beginning of legal tampering, the following 21 players are now free to negotiate with any team in the NFL:
WR Robby Anderson
RT Brandon Shell
LT Kelvin Beachum
G Alex Lewis
LB Neville Hewitt
CB Brian Poole
LB Jordan Jenkins
WR Demaryius Thomas
CB Maurice Canady
G Tom Compton
C Ryan Kalil
P Lachlan Edwards
LB Brandon Copeland
RB Bilal Powell
RB Ty Montgomery
T Brent Qvale
LB Albert McClellan
S Rontez Miles
QB Trevor Siemian
QB David Fales
LB Paul Worrilow
The Jets may still bring some of these players back. Often NFL teams will let players test the market before finalizing a deal. However, given that the Jets are looking to upgrade a bottom of the league roster, and given that Joe Douglas did not pick many of these players, it’s a safe bet that most of these players will not be back with the Jets in 2020.
