On the superbowl:

Jimmy G didn’t deliver the goods when his team needed him to do so. Hate to see it. So happy for chiefs fans who have been long suffering forever like we have. Here’s to us ending our drought in the very near future

-jets4life24

Kyle Shanahan is a very good offensive coach, but this is now the second time he has failed to close out a Superbowl with the lead. Part of this is on Jimmy G, part of this on the play-calling. Though of course the biggest part of this is how well the Chiefs executed in the closing minutes of the game.

On Jimmy Garoppolo:

Jimmy G was never the reason they made it to the SB in the first place He’s Mark Sanchez 2.0

On Patrick Mahomes:

I dunno that Mahomes played poorly. A defense can only play lights out against a player like that for so long. I mean, occasionally super stars lay an egg, but that’s usually not the case. San Francisco was doing well with a four man rush for most of the night. I always laugh when anyone says, “An effective four man rush is the secret to stopping Brady.” Really? Is there any QB who doesn’t struggle a lot against that? Four guys get good pass rush and that leaves seven in coverage. I saw some people comment in the game thread that Mahomes was being “exposed”. Right, all you need to stop Patrick Mahomes is a defense to play lights out all game and generate a bunch of pass rush with four defenders. That’s his kryptonite apparently—which, as it turns out, is kryptonite for pretty much every QB out there. By the end of the game, Kansas City put up 31 against a really, really good defense. That’s only the third time this season anyone had scored 31 or more against them. Gotta hand it to KC’s defense too. Holding the 49ers to 20 points or less has only happened 3 times prior this season, and one of those games looked like it was being played in a hurricane. Mahomes did what he needed to do and he didn’t shrink after the second interception. He also made a lot of yards with his feet. Instead if getting worn down, he wore them down.

Heard a crazy stat on the radio this morn...

Mahomie was 5-0 this season when his team trailed by double digits.

-Crackback

Uncanny superbowl predictions (prior to the game starting):

Let’s go! What’s your score prediction? Who wins MVP?

Chiefs 31, 49ers 20. Super Bowl MVP: Patrick Mahomes. Receiving yards leader: Tyreek Hill Sacks leader: Nick Bosa.

On Mekhi Bechton: Future HOF’er

The next Jonathan Ogden.. 12 year Pro Bowler, 6 to 7 year All-Pro.. As big as that kid is, he moves like a Cat.. Very agile and laterally quick. Granted he does use poor technique @ times, choosing sheer strength instead of bending and using his legs. But what really sold me on him was watching tape of other DE’s and OLB’s use spin moves on him and also them using pure dip and swim moves on him as well.. They couldn’t get around him. It’s one thing for you to try to bullrush him… (Good Luck). But for him to pick up speed rushers at that size… That’s a totally different conversation… I’m was sold.

On Jerry Jeudy;

Jeudy would be a terrible pick.

He’s way too small to hold up against big defensive linemen and at 6’1”, he doesn’t have the length to keep edge rushers at bay. Pass.

-Ivan_Homeless

Blue in the face

I’m going to say this until I am blue in the face. Get Sam a legitimate WR weapon that can beat press coverage and get open. The OL is critically important, but if Jeudy is there at 11, take him. Robby is a serviceable receiver, but he is not a #1 and the Jets do not have a legitimate stud WR on this team.

-Larryblack

He’s 6’1 I think

So not big but not small. NJB is right when he calls Jeudy the Gase prototype. He’s really just a super athletic, relatively large slot receiver that can play anywhere and run any route
