On why Sam Darnold could be considered the best Jet:

Because we completely fell apart when he missed games

Wasn’t the case with Adams. Looked the case with Mosley but that was one game.

On why Sam Darnold shouldn’t be considered the best Jet:

That seems more like an indictment of the backups than anything related to Darnold

He plays the most important position, but we knew that already. His backups were very bad, but we knew that already. Darnold is MAYBE a top 16 QB, while Adams and Mosley are safely top 5 at their spots. I don’t see how Darnold goes over them for best. Most valuable, yes, but that’s a function of playing QB

On whether or not we should trade Le’Veon Bell:

Would be pathetic

To trade Bell for a day 3 pick and pay off most of his contract. Definition of 50 cents on the dollar and a sell low move. RBs production is more indicative of their surrounding circumstances than their individual talent. This was a trash offense with bottom 5 talent at every position besides Bell himself (and Sam). We should be counting our lucky stars to have someone like Bell to funnel offense thru after Robby leaves in FA. Whether or not Gase wisens up on his usage plan is a different matter

On the prospect of the Jets picking Lamb over Andrew Thomas:

I’m warming up to Lamb, but as I said before I would not want him picked if Thomas is still on the board.

-whydoesgodhateus

I like Lamb

I think from a talent perspective that Lamb is better than Thomas. That said, I can’t rationalize the Jets taking Lamb over Thomas given the current state of our offensive line.

-newman104

I would love this

Dude is a baller. I think this is all dependent on free agency. However, I’d be 100% cool with passing on Thomas for Lamb.

-GenoTime7

I’d trust JD to make that decision because I could be convinced either way so I’d leave it to an ex-OL guy

If JD picks Lamb given he must be leaning heavily towards OL then I will assume he was not convinced Thomas can be a LT because that has to be his projected ceiling to go that high.

On CeeDee Lamb:

Eye test = lie test

If Lamb was to have trouble separating than he would not have been a dominant force in college from the moment he stepped on the field as a freshman Look at the best WR in the game today, Hopkins, Adams, Thomas, Godwin, Keenan Allen, Amari Cooper. None of these guys are blazers or super athletes. They are masters of their craft and true dogs on the football field. The same applies to Lamb, he has exhibited every desirable trait in an alpha WR at the next level.
