Today we continue our AFC East podcast crossover week by discussing the Miami Dolphins. Due to logistics, we don’t have a Dolphins expert so you have Joe who covers the Bills, Mike who covers the Patriots, and I discuss the team that finished last in the division.
In spite of their 5-11 record, 2019 might be considered a positive year for Miami. The Dolphins beat all preseason expectations and have as many assets to improve their roster as any team in the NFL. Still, virtually the entire roster needs to be overhauled. As we have seen in recent years with the Jets, assets do not necessarily translate into improvement. Most notably, the Dolphins will need to find a long-term solution at quarterback, which has eluded them since Dan Marino’s retirement two decades ago. Ryan Fitzpatrick put together an admirable 2019, but he isn’t that solution.
Thanks as always for listening.
