SNF: Chiefs vs Broncos Game Thread

Sunday Night Football, Week 13. Tonight the Kansas City Chiefs host the Denver Broncos in an AFC West rivalry game.

The 10-1 Kansas City Chiefs are probably the best team in the NFL, with all due respect to the undefeated Pittsburgh Steelers. The Chiefs come into this game riding a six game winning streak. However, lately the Chiefs have made things interesting. They have won each of their last three games by four points or less. Living on the edge like that often means a loss is imminent, but the Broncos may not be the team to snap the Chiefs’ winning streak. The Chiefs are vying with the Steelers for the #1 seed in the AFC and home field advantage throughout the playoffs. A loss tonight would probably mean the end of those aspirations.

The 4-7 Denver Broncos are playing mostly for pride at this point, with the playoffs the longest of long shots. The Broncos come into tonight’s game off a 31 - 3 loss to the New Orleans Saints in one of the ugliest games you’ll ever see. The Broncos were without every quarterback on the roster and were forced to start a practice squad wide receiver at quarterback against the Saints. The results were predictable, as the Broncos completed one pass the entire game in their beatdown by the Saints. Tonight the Broncos will have their quarterbacks back, but this game still looks like a mismatch. Probably the only hope for a Broncos win would be if their defense can put tremendous pressure on Patrick Mahomes all game and create some turnovers. Considering Mahomes has thrown just two interceptions all year, that’s probably not the way to bet.

It’s the Chiefs and the Broncos in what looks on paper to be a mismatch on Sunday Night Football.

Enjoy the game everybody.
