New York Jets Flight Connections 12/06/20

NFL: New York Jets at Los Angeles Chargers Jayne Kamin-Oncea-USA TODAY Sports

Good morning, GGN! The Jets play the 6-5 Las Vegas Raiders today and the Jets just might have a shot at a win in this one. Sure, the Raiders are a winning team that has beaten the Chiefs this year. Doesn’t sound like a great matchup for a winless Jets team. But the Raiders depend heavily on their running game. The Raiders are 1-5 this year when they rush for less than 130 yards. And it just so happens the Jets have a pretty good run defense. In fact the Jets currently have the 4th best run defense in the NFL in terms of yards per carry. The Jets have allowed 130 or more rushing yards only twice all year. And the Raiders will be missing Josh Jacobs, their best running back, today. In addition, the Raiders are flying in from the west and playing in the early time slot, which can often cause trouble for western teams. Recipe for an upset? We’ll see. But football is a game of matchups, and maybe the matchups are favorable for the Jets today.
