Jets vs. Raiders: Five Bold Predictions

NFL: Oakland Raiders at New York Jets Robert Deutsch-USA TODAY Sports

Last week was rough. I have to imagine people are jumping off of the Darnold train as though it were charging at full speed toward a tunnel full of dynamite. It’s hard to go bold against the a team that beat the Chiefs, but it’s easier to go bold against a team that lost to the Falcons. So let’s see what we can do:

Disclaimer: Bold Predictions are not realistic expectations for the game, but rather something that is unlikely to happen, yet possible. These predictions are pro-Jets, yet stretch the boundaries of probability. Claiming that the Jets score 20 points is not a Bold Prediction, nor is claiming that the Jets score 700 points. These predictions must be within the bounds of possibility, but also highly improbable. As always, the final score prediction remains a realistic guess at the result of the game and does not relate to the Bold Predictions.

Here are my five bold predictions for today’s game:

  • The Raiders turn the ball over 4 times.
  • Crowder, Mims, and Perriman all catch a touchdown pass.
  • The Jets rush for over 200 yards.
  • No Raider player goes for over 75 yards from scrimmage.
  • The Jets do not allow a sack.

Final Score: Jets 13, Raiders 24
