Jets Week 16 Game Ball: Tarell Basham

Against all odds, the Jets won again on Sunday which means we will be giving out a game ball for the second consecutive week.

This week there are numerous players who would be worthy of the honor. Jamison Crowder both threw for and caught a touchdown. There were standout performances on the defense from Bryce Hager to John Franklin-Myers to Nathan Shepherd.

I am going to go with Tarell Basham, however, who was the hero of the fourth quarter. He helped the Jets hold onto their tenuous lead by forcing a pair of fumbles. The first was on a strip sack of Baker Mayfield with the Jets clinging to a 4 point lead. This set up up a field goal. The second came on a Mayfield fourth down quarterback sneak.

Basham hasn’t had an overly productive season and profiles ideally as a backup. For this one Sunday, however, he made the big plays the Jets needed to secure a victory.

For this he gets my game ball.

Who gets yours?
