In the Jets’ 15th game of the 2020 season, on a crisp, clear winter’s day in East Rutherford, New Jersey, the New York Jets defeated the Cleveland Browns, 23 - 16.

The game opened with a couple of three and outs. The Browns then went on a short field goal drive set up by great field position due to a poor Braden Mann punt.

The Jets used some trickery to take the lead back from the Browns. Jamison Crowder took a handoff from Sam Darnold on a reverse, then passed to a wide open Braxton Berrios streaking downfield for a touchdown and a 7 - 3 Jets lead.

Later in the first half Baker Mayfield fumbled and the Jets recovered on the Browns 30 yard line. Shortly thereafter Darnold hit a wide open Chris Herndon for a touchdown and a 13 - 3 Jets lead, which they carried into halftime.

The Jets opened the second half with a long drive ending with a Sam Darnold touchdown pass to Jamison Crowder to take a 20 - 3 lead. The Browns fought back, scoring 13 unanswered points to pull within 20 - 16. The Jets then got a crucial strip sack of Baker Mayfield and took over deep in Browns territory. They ended up kicking a field goal for a 23 - 16 lead, setting up one last Browns drive. Sam Ficken gave the Browns great field goal position with a horrible kickoff out of bounds, giving the Browns the ball at the 40 yard line. The Browns quickly moved down the field to the Jets 15 yard line, but the Jets held from there. Baker Mayfield fumbled on 4th and one, the Jets took over on downs, and from there the Jets ran out the clock.

With the win the Jets have their first winning streak of the year and bring their record to 2-13 on the year.
