Jets vs Browns Game Thread

It’s week 16 of the 2020 NFL season and the New York Jets are hosting the Cleveland Browns at MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, New Jersey.

Today is the last home game of the season for the Jets. With just two games to go we are now a week away from ending this most miserable of Jets seasons. The Jets come into this game off their first win of the year, a 23 - 20 upset of the Los Angeles Rams last week. Though it was their first win of the year, the Jets have been much more competitive in the second half of this season. They snatched defeat from the jaws of victory against the Las Vegas Raiders two weeks ago on an atrocious defensive call by former Jets defensive coordinator Gregg Williams. The Jets also dominated the Patriots several weeks ago for almost the entire game before collapsing in the final minutes, and they had a nice second half comeback against the Chargers to close the game within a touchdown of the Chargers. A loss is a loss, however close, and there’s no call to celebrate moral victories, but it’s undeniable the Jets have been a significantly more competitive team in the second half of this season. With the Cleveland Browns losing almost every receiver on the roster this week to COVID-19 protocols, the Jets may be in position to steal another win today. We’ll see how it goes.
