Lions vs Buccaneers Game Thread

Today we have a Saturday NFL tripleheader. To lead off the action the Detroit Lions host the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

The 5-9 Detroit Lions come into this game with little to play for other than pride. The Lions have lost six of their last eight games after starting the season at 3-3. Jets fans think they have it rough. The Lions haven’t won a playoff game since 1991. This year they have already fired their head coach, and now their coaching staff is dealing with COVID-19 issues. This has been another rough year in what seems like an endless line of rough years for Lions fans.

The 9-5 Tampa Bay Buccaneers come into this game off two straight wins. If they win today they are in the playoffs. The Tom Brady led Buccaneers came into this season with dreams of dominance and a championship dancing in their heads, but reality has turned out somewhat differently. The Buccaneers haven’t been able to beat the good teams on their schedule, with the sole exception of a signature win against the Green Bay Packers. On the other hand, the Buccaneers have taken care of business against the lesser teams. One more win against a lower tier team in the Lions today and the Buccaneers will secure a wild card berth. A division crown is already out of reach.

It’s the Lions and the Buccaneers in the early Saturday action today. Enjoy the game everybody.
