It has been a difficult year for the Jets, but there have been some bright spots. They were recognized today as the players voted on team awards for the 2020 season.

Marcus Maye took home the biggest prize as he was voted the Curtis Martin Team MVP. Maye has put together a stellar year at the back of the Jets defense.

If you have followed my writings and/or podcastings through the years, you know that I am a big Maye fan. He has been underappreciated for a long time. Finally escaping Jamal Adams’ shadow this year, people have started to notice. Now let’s hope the Jets and he can figure out a reasonable contract extension.

Frank Gore was named the Dennis Byrd Most Inspirational Player.

Ryan Griffin won the Ed Block Most Courageous Player Award.

Matthias Farley took home the Marty Lyons Community Service Award.

Foley Fatukasi won the Kyle Clifton Good Guy Award.

Finally, Denzel Mims was named the Bill Hampton Rookie Who Acts Like a Pro.
