The Jets won their first game of the season on Sunday. That means we must pick a standout player to honor for their contribution to the victory. You might call this honor the anti-anti-game ball. I prefer to call it the game ball.
There were numerous candidates worthy of the first game ball of the season. There were standout defensive performances by Nathan Shepherd and Bryce Hall.
My game ball goes to Quinnen Williams, however. Williams finished the game with 4 tackles, a sack, and a quarterback hit. He was a constantly disruptive force up front.
This was a close call. I am giving Williams the honor just because it feels like he is the one Jet who deserves a game ball for the season. The second year defensive lineman has flourished over the last two months and shown flashes of the dominant force the Jets were hoping to see when he was drafted. It also is worth noting that the Jets defense performed much worse after he left the game due to injury.
Quinnen Williams gets my game ball. Who gets yours?
